The Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) for rough sleepers has been activated within Charnwood. This mean individuals who are rough sleeping within the borough can approach the council for advice and assistance in staying safe in the heat. Please encourage individuals who are rough sleeping to contact the Housing Options service for assistance between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, on 01509 634666 during opening hours (and on 0333 200 8811 outside of opening hours in emergencies). Individuals unable to make contact by telephone can present at the council offices during service opening hours.
